Shamicka Benn


Originally from Knoxville, TN, Shamicka currently splits her time between New York, Los Angeles, and traveling every in between with the Broadway National and International Tour of Chicago!  Her early training includes the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre where she strengthened her ballet technique and was introduced to Horton, West African and several amazing dance disciplines under the direction of Denise Jefferson, Robert Atwood and Ana Marie Forsythe.  Shamicka has performed in many stage productions including Hair, Little Shop of Horrors, Dreamgirls, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat, and Pippin. She can also be seen on TV’s Ugly Betty and films including The Rebound and Sex in the City.  During an interim of the January '08 leg of the Chicago National Tour, she was honored to be a part Disney’s When You Wish at the prestigious Theater Under the Stars.  Shamicka is a proud Broadway Connection teacher and member of Actor’s Equity who continues to teach and choreograph around the world.  Her theatrical pieces aim to develop performing arts opportunities for city magnet schools and infuse young artists with passion and knowledge!

From YOUNG FRANK to MARY POPPINS Billy Griffin who taught Broadway Connection Master Classes while one tour with YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is back on the road with MARY POPPINS and super excited to teach more tap, jazz, musical theatre and audition tech master classes. Congrats Billy!
Broadway Connection Teacher moves to BROADWAY! Broadway Connection Master Teacher, Tiffany Howard spent last year teaching across the country as she toured with the MARY POPPINS. Tiffany now joins the Broadway cast of MEMPHIS! Congrats Tiffany!
